Through the Gerald J. Friedman Transgender Program for Health & Wellness at Lenox Hill Hospital, “trans-affirmative,” comprehensive care is offered for transgender and gender “nonconforming” individuals.

The Division of Adolescent Medicine at Cohen Children’s Medical Center offers a three-year fellowship training program in adolescent medicine on a scheduled basis for fellows including rotations within the LGBTQIA+ Transgender Program.

In the LGBTQIA+ Transgender Program, “fellows work with the Division of Allergy and Immunology to learn how to deliver comprehensive and culturally competent care to adolescent and young adult trans and gender-nonconforming patients.”

Fellows also provide primary care to transgender youth in the main adolescent practice at Cohen’s Children Medical Facility.

In April 2022, Cohen Children’s Medical Center was recognized by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation’s 2022 “Healthcare Equality Index (HEI)” with a perfect score.
